THE BENEFITS OF THE LEVEL 1 CLASSES:
In our Level 1 Acting classes, you’ll learn the tools and techniques that form the foundation of authentic, confident performance.
Each exercise, scene, and adjustment is designed to help you respond truthfully, connect with your scene partners, and develop the skills professional actors use every day.
Beyond technique, these classes give you a safe and playful environment to explore your creativity, build your acting muscles, and discover the joy that brings every performance to life.
-
Gain practical adjustments used by film and TV practitioners. You’ll start noticing these techniques as you recognise them in film and TV shows. This helps you connect class training with real-world performance.
-
Weekly practice with scene partners builds spontaneous, truthful reactions to lines, events, and characters. Like dancers, actors strengthen their craft through repeated, focused practice.
-
Working smarter, not harder, as the Barrow group always say. Working to have a simple human response and releasing the more actorly-like response - this is good for film work and stage work.
-
Scenes are carefully selected (2–3 pages) to focus on performance rather than memorisation, allowing you to concentrate on truth, spontaneity, and connection.
-
Techniques are grounded in observations from life, helping you create truthful, human responses in your work.
-
The ultimate goal is to discover the joy in playing. Your presence and enjoyment are what bring authenticity and life to every scene.
-
Acting is about exploration and playful engagement. We are looking to lighten the responsibilities to be good, be great, be impressive! By prioritising your joy and creativity, you unlock genuine, joyful, impactful performance. None of this has to be real- It’s a make-believe world after all. Your imagination has got this!
Here’s what students have to say
““Juliet’s work is invaluable to me as an actor. Be it when making split-second adjustments to my character on a film set, or when working a scene in a rehearsal environment.
Her teachings are practical, and thanks to the specificity she encourages in class, lead to a great level of learning. I couldn’t recommend Juliet’s classes enough, and I am very grateful to get the opportunity to be up working every single week with a great group of people. ”
”
“Juliet’s way of working with actors has changed the way I approach acting. Her teaching encourages freedom, spontaneity, truthful behaviour and authentic performances. Juliet does the thing that challenges us all, she pushes you outside of your comfort zone.
Although I’ve found it scary, that’s where I’ve learned the most. She gets you out of your head and in to your body. It’s less about any technical work and more about what happens for the performer organically. Her classes allow you to grow in a way where you learn to trust in yourself as a performer and trust that everything you need for a role is within you. If you want to improve as an actor, go to Juliet’s classes!
