ABOUT YOUR COACH

Juliet Furness brings over 30 years of experience in acting and voice coaching, both internationally and in New Zealand.

Her teaching is grounded in practical, contemporary techniques that help actors and professionals connect with emotional truth, spontaneity, and clarity in performance. Juliet’s approach is shaped by her extensive training at renowned institutions, including The Barrow Group in NYC, where she studied under Seth Barrish — widely respected for coaching performers such as Anne Hathaway.

After nearly two decades in the United States, Juliet returned to New Zealand to bring her deeply honed craft to local actors, singers, and professionals seeking authentic expression. She has coached students who’ve gone on to appear in major productions including Young Rock, My Life Is Murder, In a Flash, Shortland Street, Head High, Ahikaroa, and Lord of the Rings. Whether guiding beginners or working actors, Juliet focuses on developing grounded, nuanced, and confident performers through tailored, thoughtful training.
